Uptick

I'm not sure what it all means, other than having been to more Memorial Ceremonies in the last three weeks here on post than I'd been to over the rest of the deployment, but there seems to be an uptick in casualties in the recent past.

Prayers are definitely in order....

Pentecost blessings to one and all who celebrate that sort of thing,

Come Holy Spirit, and fill the hearts of your faithful, and kindle in them the fire of Your Divine Love. Send forth Your Spirit and they shall be created, and You shall renew the face of the earth. Oh God, Who by the light of the Holy Spirit instructed the hearts of the faithful, Grant, that by the same Spirit we may be truly wise and ever rejoice in His consolation. We ask this through Christ Our Lord. Amen.

Pentecost blessings to you, too, Fr. Tim and MSG McG. :-)

Tim,
Pentecost is one of my favorite holy days. I love the special attention shown to the Holy Spirit, the prayers and readings are especially meaningful to me--plus we get to wear red, my favorite color!

I'll never forget the Pentecost when you presided and made everbody get up and move: the people sitting on the left,to the right; those on the right, to the left; those in the back,to the front...and so on. It was a great lesson in the Spirit's shaking us up and preparing us to do new things. Which is exactly where I am in life right now. And I will *never* forget the muttering, grumbing, and general freaked-outness of the liturgy committe that day. Even without the wonderful lesson--which you notice I still remember however many years later--it was worth the price of admission to watch the entertainment the ever-so-flexible liturgy committee provided that day. I think they haven't recovered yet!

Pentecost blessings to you, also.

Mary

Tim,
As I've been reading about what seems to be escalating casualties in Iraq, I've been thinking about you and praying for your safety and that of McG,as well as all the men and women serving our country in Iraq and Afghanistan--but particularly for the two of you

Prayers keep coming your way. M
