APFT, again

Last week I took the APFT (Army Physical Fitness Test) again. Ugh.

Don't ever get a permanent no-run profile from the Army, folks! As much as I really don't like running, the two-and-a-half-mile *walk* is awful. No matter how much I train on the treadmill, it just is not an adequate preparation for having to walk for 2.5 miles at an almost-running clip outside on pavement.

My knees have not been the same since Monday a week ago, and so I'll be paying a visit to the physical therapist this weekend. The orthopedic physician I saw got very interested in the swelling in both my knees and began rattling off the technical terms for all the tendons, ligaments, bursae, fascia, and bones that are inflamed, swollen, strained, or whatever.

Sigh.

And that doesn't even begin to deal with my ankle and bilateral plantar fasciitis.

Who knew that two and a half miles could do all that?

At least it wasn't raining!

Blessings and peace to one and all,

Fr. Tim, SJ

Oh, I'm so sorry! I hope you're able to ice everything down. How did you do on the push ups and stuff?
